This image of Kevin in Moonlight. Kevin as vision. Kevin as hope. Kevin as possibility, as a chance. A chance for Chiron to finally, really exist, by really connecting with another, seeing and being seen, knowing and being known, loving and being loved. Kevin, who was all performance in high school, all front, all talk, and has liberated himself from that, at least to some degree, has become a real person with a real life, while Chiron has remained trapped, hidden, invisible.

“Who is you, man?” Kevin asks Chiron at one point, but the world has never given Chiron a chance to find out.

Kevin might be that chance. If only they can bridge the distance between the life that Kevin has lived and the life that Chiron hasn’t.
