read me like a book

This song by my friend Jonathan Mann (who writes and posts a song online every day) made me cry a little, I think because of its stripped-down, unembellished sincerity (such a rare quality these days), and because it speaks to something that I think is true of me as a writer, too.

You can have my heart
It’s already yours
You can hear all my thoughts
Read me like a book

When you run out of things to write
You will just keep writing
You don’t even need to be too bright
The most important thing is just that you keep fighting

I’m stronger than I look.
